Join us for a printmaking workshop at Open Studio in Portland, Maine! Katharine will be teaching this workshop on Block Printed Pattern Repeats, and carving a block that can be used on paper or fabric. No printmaking experience is required, and she will walk you through the process of creating a pattern using an original hand-carved block. We will work on two carved blocks: a tile repeat and a seamless repeat, both designed without the use of a computer. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring additional materials to print on if you want!
We will be carving two blocks to print a repeat pattern, and we will be printing without a press so you will able to take the blocks home and continue printing.
This event will be held at Katharine Watson's new store, Open Studio, at 199 Pleasant Avenue in Portland, Maine. Class will run from 3-6pm on Saturday, January 31st.
This class is non-refundable, but is transferable between people so it can be purchased as a gift.
